Jill Willis, MSN, ARNP, FNP-C grew up in the small town of Loveland, CO. In college, she was a martial artist and studied American Sign Language while working in a psychiatry unit that provided services to deaf adolescents. She has had a wide-ranging career, including time in the ICU, emergency department, labor and delivery, psychiatry, NICU, and patient advocacy. After spending a couple of years in high-risk obstetrics as a nurse practitioner, she expanded her experience even farther by entering into family medicine in Enumclaw, WA. Her work and dedication to patient care has been recognized by her peers: she is a recipient of the Daisy Award, which she received while working in L&D. This was followed by the Clinical Colleague Award, which she received during her time in the ICU.
Jill believes in meeting people where they are at on their journey to better health. She respects each individual’s autonomy and their right to make informed choices about their care. Jill fosters trust through collaboration, recognizing that a strong patient-provider relationship is built on mutual respect. While she offers guidance and recommendations to improve health and prevent future challenges, she honors her patients’ decisions and supports them in the path they choose.
Jill connects with her patients by listening intently with empathy. She strives to creates a safe, nonjudgmental space for open conversation. She takes the time to understand each person’s unique background, their values, and health goals. By involving patients in the decision-making process and honoring their autonomy, Jill builds a foundation of mutual respect. Her consistent support, clear communication, and collaborative approach help patients feel heard, valued, and empowered, key elements in building lasting trust.
Jill chose family medicine because she values building long-term, meaningful relationships with patients and their families. She is drawn to the opportunity to care for people across all stages of life, supporting them through everyday health needs, chronic conditions, and major life changes. Family medicine allows her to take a whole-person, holistic approach, addressing not just physical health but also emotional and social well-being. Jill finds fulfillment in being a consistent, trusted partner in her patients’ health journeys, and she believes that continuity of care leads to better outcomes and stronger community health.
Jill has been “trained” by her rescue dog and now understands she should deliver snacks to her pup on a regular basis. She also enjoys playing Pinochle, paddleboarding, traveling and enjoying time with family and friends. These hobbies help her stay grounded, curious, and connected to the values she brings into her work with patients.
