When it comes to healthy aging and managing your health as you enter your senior years, a relationship with a primary care provider will be beneficial to you. Sound Family Medicine doctors are here to care for you with each milestone you’ll reach in life.
Why should you establish care with Sound Family Medicine as a senior?
We’re local and well established in the community.
We have been in East Pierce County since 1984. With four locations in Puyallup and Bonney Lake, we are close to home. Our locations are near established landmarks, near where locals spend time, and near senior living communities.
We partner with health plans for your health plan.
We accept select Medicare plans, with certain exceptions. We partner with health plans who have the same goal as we do – to support your quality of life, work with you on a plan to maintain your health, keep you out of hospitals and more. These plans work closely with us to support you and your doctor’s efforts in managing your health in a cost-effective way.
We provide you with resources to help you make the right health plan decisions.
As you age into Medicare eligibility at 65 years old, there will be a lot of options to consider in terms of choosing the right health plan for yourself. While we are not a health insurance company, we partner with a licensed insurance broker and offer Medicare educational seminars to help you make an informed decision.
We are here for you. Your health and wellness needs are important to us, and we’re happy to introduce you to resources who can show you a variety of health plan options and answer any questions you may have about your insurance coverage.

Where and when do you offer Medicare seminars?
When should I get the pneumonia vaccine?
Should I get the shingles vaccination?
We recommend getting the Zostavax vaccine for all adults age 60+. This is a one-time vaccination that can reduce the chance of shingles in adults over 60 by over 50%.
Most insurances have this set up as a medication coverage benefit, which means they recommend you obtain this medication at your pharmacy. Please contact your insurance to verify this.
If you have questions about this vaccine, your Sound Family provider can help you.
