The Pinkest 5k in Pierce County

Sound Family Medicine was a proud sponsor again this year for the Come Walk With Me 5k on Saturday, October 3rd! Presented by the Good Samaritan Foundation, we joined other local businesses like the Old Cannery and the Seattle Seahawks Sea Gals to help raise funds for the breast health programs at Good Samaritan Hospital. This annual event is open to all with 100% of the proceeds benefiting our local community. Last year, the event raised enough money to provide:

• 210 wigs
• 68 post-surgical camisoles
• 20 screenings and diagnostics
• 700 visits to the cancer resource center
• 922 participants in fitness classes
• 77 resource kits

SFM’s team was dressed in pink connecting with families before and after the event with complimentary blood pressure checks and fun goodies such as pedometers for the runners and walkers. “We’re thrilled to be a sponsor again this year of an event that not only helps raise awareness and support for breast cancer but also helps raise funds that go back into breast health programs in our own community.” Chris Hugo, SFM’s Marketing Manager.
