Sound Family Medicine has a tradition of coming together during the holidays to help support others who are in need and this year is proving to be no different.
Over the last 2 weeks, staff and patients helped collect food and other necessities at each of our clinics. Boxes filled with peanut butter, canned soups, pasta, granola bars, macaroni and cheese, applesauce, diapers and baby food sat under a mural designed after The Giving Tree book – the leaves filled with the names of those who contributed.
Today, those donations were gathered across our organization, dividing them to benefit the Puyallup Food Bank and Bonney Lake Food Bank. SFM staff’s generous donations provided Puyallup families with 324 pounds of food and Bonney Lake families with 521 pounds of food. Beyond donating tangible items that will help nourish our neighbors this holiday season, our staff inspired those around us and gave hope.
The Bonney Lake Food bank served more than 900 families across Bonney Lake, Orting and even as far as Carbonado in October alone. As donations were delivered today, it was clear that much more help is needed as shelves were near empty. We will continue to help and hope that you’ll join us in making sure that no one goes hungry this holiday season.
The Golden Giving Trophy
The competitive spirit lives within compassionate hearts at Sound Family Medicine. For the first time, the Golden Giving Trophy was up for grabs offering more than just bragging rights to the clinic with the largest donation. We’re proud to award this year’s Golden Giving Trophy to the Bonney Lake clinic!
