Sound Family Medicine Community,
When I thought of March, I looked forward to welcoming longer days, the arrival of blossoms, and spring break with the kids. However, as news of the first deaths from COVID-19 were reported, life rapidly began changing.
As a provider, I want you to know we understand the uncertainty you are facing. We face it too. As a wife, I want you to know I understand the conversations happening at home – we are having them too. As a parent, I want you to know I understand the questions weighing on your mind – I have them too.
That is why I’m writing you today in an open, raw, and honest way. This pandemic has changed all of our lives. Many of us just wish to go back to “normal”, some have begun talking about the “new normal”, and all of us have been worn down by the upheaval COVID-19 has created. No matter what the future holds – as a community we have a choice, retreat to a corner and wait for some sort of resolution or find a way to fight together and keep living our lives. At Sound Family Medicine, we hope you will join us in the fight.
Kids don’t stop growing in a pandemic, and the need to be current on vaccines remains critically important. Women don’t stop having babies, and chronic diseases don’t go on pause. Taking care of your health is more important than ever as we continue to fight COVID-19 and the many ways it can impact the health of our population. Eventually, we’ll put this pandemic behind us. Until then, we will keep providing you with the same intentional, patient-centered, compassionate care that you have seen from us during the last 35 years. Your visits with us might look different for now, but our ability to care for your safely and completely remains unchanged.

Thank you for all you are doing to care for yourselves, your families and your neighbors. As you care for others, please be candid in your conversations, your questions, and emotions. We are here to support you, and we look forward to serving you in all your healthcare needs – even in the midst of this unprecedented event.
Warmest wishes for health,
Tracie
