T.T. Hahn, ARNP
My healthcare philosophy is partnering with my patients to determine how to solve a problem. I feel patients need, and deserve, to understand our methods and recommendations for them. We ask for their trust in our decision making, help them to understand why we recommend a treatment and then work together to solve an issue or manage a chronic disease. As a provider, I’m all about the “feel goods” although you will find I’m very direct. I chose family practice because I wanted to care for different types of patients. I enjoy women’s health, love pediatrics and find that adult care gives me a beautiful variety of people to help care for.
Originally pursuing a career in business, I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in business administration at Oregon State University. Born and raised in Oregon, and having several aunts and uncles who graduated from OSU, it was very natural for me to go there. After nearly a decade of working in business and sales, I landed a satisfying career in pharmaceuticals and my eyes were opened to the world of medicine. Spending time with physicians made me realize what a rewarding job working in primary healthcare was. This quickly started a chain of events in my life starting with quitting my job to return to college to become a nurse practitioner.
My journey started at the University of Rochester in New York, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in nursing. I then worked as a post-surgical nurse at St. Peter’s Hospital for 5 years while earning my nurse practitioner degree at Western University of Health Science. To add icing to the cake, my husband and I had a son while I was in school. After 8 years, I graduated with my Family Nurse Practitioner degree and am thrilled to be a part of the Sound Family Medicine team.
I’m a Puyallup local. You’ll find me at the fairgrounds for every spring and summer fair, the farmer’s market and much more, especially if its fun for my son. As a family, we enjoy the outdoors – hiking, camping and snowboarding. I do CrossFit, knit and love to read books whenever I can.
