Tricia Solomos, ARNP

I think patients will find that I am very outgoing and friendly while honest and upfront. When I’m with you, my time is 100% yours. I am here for you. When patients understand their care, they feel comfortable following a plan. Becoming a mother has also helped me see how vital trust is with your provider. Honesty and timely communications are especially important. I think children will find that I have a way with making the exam room a little less scary starting with lots of high fives.

My parents, who are immigrants from Greece, instilled the importance of education starting at a very young age. Growing up in Lincoln, Nebraska, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona after graduating nursing school in 2002. I first worked as an intensive care unit (ICU) trauma nurse before becoming a traveling nurse where I later added post-anesthesia care to my specialties. As a traveling nurse, I worked in different areas of the country including Hawaii, Alaska, Boston and the Mayo Clinic’s Arizona location. When I wasn’t working, I explored the world, visiting Colombia, India, Mexico, Nepal, Southeast Asia and Europe. With family in Washington state, I looked forward to visiting and spent endless days snowboarding in the mountains and later moved here and worked as a nurse. After traveling for years, I was excited to start a new challenge and went back to school to become a nurse practitioner (ARNP) and graduated with my master’s degree.

I loved bedside nursing and caring for critical patients but I felt like something was missing – preventative care. As I would get to know families, it became increasingly clear that they needed help navigating their healthcare options. Healthcare is confusing and frustrating and patients need someone they trust to guide them. Becoming a nurse practitioner has helped me bridge my passion for nursing and helping patients with the holistic care I can provide as their provider.

My family brings me so much joy. My husband, co-owner of a family fire investigation agency and volunteer firefighter, and I love watching our toddler learn and grow. I find that I wear a permanent smile when I’m with our son. Seeing his curiosity, reactions and expressions after he learns something new thrills me. Whether it’s camping under the stars in the mountains or exploring a tropical beach, breaking out of our routine is recharging! I believe that if you’re healthy, you need to get out and live it. We don’t know what tomorrow brings.
