After years of working in birth centers, I decided to work in family practice because I was always wanting to continue relationships with my patients beyond that. I decided that I needed to be in a setting where I could be with patients throughout all different stages of their life.

My favorite aspect of family practice is the relationships that are built with patients and their families. It is a very special and unique bond. With my patients, I hope to have a relationship that is founded on honesty and trust. I strive to be a provider that patients feel comfortable talking about anything with. I also am very passionate at looking at the patient as a whole. I want to build a partnership where I help them achieve their health goals and nurture an environment where they feel comfortable being in charge of their health.

I grew up in a small town in the middle of Michigan. I loved playing sports (basketball, track, volleyball, lacrosse) and I was also in choir all through school. I worked various jobs throughout high school and college but working as a CNA I found my real passion for caring for others.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Alma College in Alma, MI and later attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA for my accelerated second degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I’ve worked in South Carolina, Arizona, and California before ending in Washington where I worked at the Good Samaritan Hospital Family Birth Center. During that time, I completed my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner through Chamberlain University and finished my clinical rotation with Sound Family Medicine.

Family is extremely important to me. I am very close with my family and love spending time with them. I live in the Puyallup/Tacoma area with my husband, Josh, who works in law enforcement. I have two step-children, Jada and Javen have a Blue Russian cat named Kevin and an English Mastiff named Deebo.

I love anything outdoors – hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, BBQs, and even working in the yard. I also love reading, watching shows and movies, karaoke, painting, playing games/sports and travel. My team is the Green Bay Packers. I love planning things like parties, or even just writing in my planner is enjoyable to me. I also love trying anything new, whether it’s as crazy as skydiving to just trying a new food.

I’m extremely happy to have found my home with Sound Family Medicine and look forward to serving the people of this community.
