Jared Rapier, PA-C
I joined the army as a medic when I was 18 years old and trained in Fort Sam Houston. It was when I was deployed to Iraq for 18 months that I realized how passionate I was about providing care to help keep others healthy and well. When I returned home, I attended the Physician Assistant Program at the University of Washington School of Medicine and graduated with my Masters of Clinical Health Services degree. I was very active in the MEDEX program and served as Treasurer of the Physician’s Assistant class. I continue to teach clinical skills in the PA programs at the Seattle and Tacoma UW campuses and am working to complete my second major in chemistry.
At first, I was planning to focus on acute medicine based on my military background, though I became passionate about family practice after my preceptorship at Sound Family Medicine. I was impressed with the level of patient care and the long-standing rapport the provider team had with their patients. I knew I wanted to do more – to be part of the patient’s care plan to help them be healthy. Transparency is key for me – everything I do is for my patient’s benefit. It’s a 100% patient-centered and holistic approach. You can depend on me to listen and care while being fun and relaxed. Together we’ll work to keep you healthy and feeling well.
My wife and I are proud parents of 3 children – 2 girls and a boy. I enjoy giving back to my community. A graduate of Auburn High School, I continue to provide sideline medicine to AHS and other local high schools. Additionally, I’m part of a community provider network for athletic training. I’m active in my church and mentor young men at Absolute Ministries who are undergoing drug and alcohol addiction. I love the outdoors and try to backpack, hunt and camp every chance I get.
