Biography

Mr. Ryan Kraeger got his first exposure to medicine in the Army when he trained as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant in 2010. He enjoyed medicine and when he transitioned off active duty in 2014, he applied to PA school. He graduated from the University of Washington’s MEDEX Northwest Physician Assistant program in 2019.

His philosophy of healthcare is informed very strongly by his Catholic faith. He believes each person is unique, every life has meaning, and every person has a purpose in life that cannot be replaced by anyone else. Health is more than just a lack of disease. He believes it is the optimum functioning of the human person at the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. He enjoys family practice because it is the best place to follow people over the long term, to get to know them and not just their list of problems, because people are more than that. He strives to build an open, understanding and humorous relationship with patients.

Mr. Kraeger lives in the Puyallup area with his wife and our two daughters, and they are expecting another child this summer. He is an avid strength athlete, with a taste for powerlifting and calisthenics. He also enjoys reading as many books as he has time for, on many different subjects. He loves gardening with his family and cooking or canning the fruits of their labors. He is a member of the Special Operations Medical Association, and of the Catholic Medical Association.

The voice of my patients

“Mr. Kraeger explained things well- what was wrong and what to do about getting well. Very thorough. Also, when you send patients home with after-visit paper that is very helpful.”

“He did a great job of really listening to the specifics of my concern and coming up with a plan for how to treat it.”

Ryan-Kraeger-PA

“My philosophy on health is to make the patient part of the solution to anything that ails them. Patients who are centered in their own healthcare can make informed choices.”
