Wesley grew up in a small community in East Tennessee. From a young age, he knew he wanted to work in the medical field. He attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN for his initial undergraduate education where he received a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. His passion for learning then led him to complete a second baccalaureate degree in biology from Baylor University in Waco, TX. Following his undergraduate endeavors, he worked as an operating room assistant, which solidified his desire to practice medicine. He then went on to attend the physician assistant program at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN where he focused his interests on primary care and orthopedics.
