Dr. Marc Aversa grew up in Edmonds and has worked at Sound Family Medicine since 1999. He earned his M.D. At Brown University and his M.H.A. at the University of Washington. He completed his residency at Valley Medical Center in Renton. He is board certified and specializes in obstetrics.

He chose family practice to provide personalized, tailored care to his patients over the long term. He enjoys caring for all generations from infants through older adults. At all ages, he believes it is important to take care of yourself through fitness and healthy eating. He enjoys discussing fitness with his patients and will help them set manageable goals to improve their health in a way that feels comfortable for them.

Dr. Aversa knows that medicine is changing not just in terms of technology, but also in terms of the doctor/patient relationship. His role as a provider is to advise. This usually means laying out options and helping patients select what will work for them. He is married with three children and lives in the Puyallup area.

The voice of my patients

“Dr. Aversa once again executed my routine yearly physical with the very same precision, efficiency and upbeat demeanor with which I’ve become accustomed over the past 15 years.”

“Dr. Aversa is the best. Always listens to us as patients, provides advice and help without pushing pills and tests we feel we don’t need or want. A fabulous friend as well as physician.”

“Changes in medicine over the last decade have enabled us to move the center of healthcare from the doctor back to the patient. I believe in the value of a strong patient-doctor relationship, and do my best to foster that through thorough listening and sound advice.”
