Ms. Heather Hokanson provides family care with an emphasis on women’s health and obstetrics. As a board– certified Advanced Nurse Practitioner in family medicine, she can perform many procedures and prescribe medications, in addition to seeing and assessing patients.
She was raised in the Bonney Lake area and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pacific Lutheran University. Following graduation, she joined the Army and spent the following five years in Fairbanks, Alaska working in the areas of surgery and labor and delivery.
In between Alaska and Sound Family Medicine, she worked in a women’s health clinic in Federal Way and at Good Samaritan in labor and delivery, postpartum, and the nursery. In 2008, she also earned her Master’s in Family Practice from PLU.
As the mom of three boys, she can empathize with patients who are dealing with the joys and challenges of work, parenthood, and life. In her personal life, she’s active in her church and enjoys spending time with her family hiking and biking. She’s also the troop leader for her son’s Cub Scout pack.
