Mr. Daniel Hahn believes the adage that a problem understood is a problem half solved. He really enjoys taking information that may seem complex and making it understandable to the layperson. His favorite part of a patient visit is explaining the problem and treatment and seeing a patient’s expression change from worry or confusion to understanding.

His mother was an emergency room nurse in upstate New York. Hospital rooms, doctors and other medical professionals were usual fixtures in his life decades before TV hospital dramas were popular. He would play in the empty ER rooms, ride the elevators up and down and eat the mashed potatoes and gravy in the cafeteria. Looking back, he believes this early exposure naturally shaped the trajectory of his life.

Since graduating in 2006 he has worked in many clinical settings including primary care, emergency medicine, orthopedics and medical weight loss. This diversity has allowed him to see the overall bigger picture of how different specialties and general practice fit together.

He is happy to bring this broad skill set to the Sound Family Medicine same day clinic. He enjoys treating all comers but tends to gravitate towards musculoskeletal injuries and complaints. He enjoys suturing and performing knee and shoulder joint injections.

Outside of medicine his focus is on spending as much quality time as possible with his incredible wife and young son. In his limited remaining free time, you can find him on the Brazilian jujitsu mat, snowboarding down the beautiful Pacific Northwest mountains in winter or mountain biking in summer.
