Biography

Ms. Cyndi Desmond sees her main role as a patient advocate, helping patients negotiate the complex health care system and make informed decisions about their own health care. Being able to connect closely with different generations of the same family is another reward. She enjoys the variety of medical challenges that she encounters daily.

She became a nurse in 1983, receiving both her RN and ARNP training at Pace University in New York City. She sees nursing in part as a way to combine her love of speaking Spanish as a second language with her desire to help others. She is fluent in Spanish and is gradually building a Hispanic patient base.

In 1996, she and her family relocated from New York City to Pierce County. Her hobbies include cross-country skiing, canoeing, and training her soft coated-wheaten terriers.

The voice of my patients

“Straight forward, to the point, doesn’t sugar coat anything, and doing what it takes to get the right results.”

“Cynthia Desmond takes the time to listen to concerns and recommend steps to take that will improve overall health and wellness. She is sensitive to my point of view and provides natural options to relieve any symptoms I may be experiencing.”

Cyndi-Desmond-ARNP

“Being able to connect closely with different generations of the same family is one of the most rewarding parts of family medicine.”
