Biography

Charles Hitztaler is a dedicated healthcare professional with a diverse background. After graduating from Western Washington University with a degree in Exercise Science, he spent seven years as a personal trainer in a medically supervised weight loss program at Pro Sports Club in Bellevue. After experiencing family illness, he was inspired to pursue a career in nursing. He completed an associate degree in Nursing at Lake Washington Technical College, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing Education at Western Governor’s University, finally achieving a Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Pacific Lutheran University.

With 15 years of nursing experience in various inpatient and outpatient settings, he takes a particular interest in wound care. He finds it to be a unique specialty that enables practice of both the art and the science of medicine. He enjoys the challenge of solving complex wounds and witnessing their progression towards healing.

Charles believes that health is more than simply the absence of disease. Working in partnership with patients, Charles advocates for evidence-based preventative medicine and lifestyle modification to achieve each patient’s unique healthcare and wellness goals – encompassing physical, mental, and social well-being. Working in Family Practice is a natural extension of his passion for lifestyle medicine, and he values open and honest relationships with patients based on mutual respect.

Charles enjoys spending quality time with his wife and family, which includes being a “dog dad” to a corgi and a “girl dad” to two daughters. He takes pleasure in staying active, whether it’s at the gym, playing sports with his daughters, or immersing himself in the great outdoors through mountain biking and hiking in the Pacific Northwest.
