Charis was born and raised in Southeast Asia and lived there until she went to college. She attended nursing school at Seattle Pacific University and nurse practitioner school at Frontier Nursing University. After nursing school, she served in a community health program in rural northern India that sparked a continued interest in international medicine.
During her career, Charis has had the opportunity to help with tsunami relief work in Indonesia. This experience allowed her to see the tangible comfort that patients experienced having a chance to share their concerns with a caring provider, to be heard, and have their needs addressed. Charis has pursued family medicine with the hopes of increasing access to care and supporting the entire family unit in achieving their wellness goals.
In her spare time, Charis enjoys adventuring with her husband and investing in her two young children – anything from hikes and rock climbing to gardening so her kids can pick fresh peas, tomatoes, and carrots all summer. She loves to connect with people and build community. She believes there is beauty to be noticed even in the mundane chaos of a normal life.
