As a family nurse practitioner, Ms. April Telan is passionate about working with her patients and their families to achieve their goals for a good quality of life. Ten years in emergency medicine inspired her to pursue family practice and primary care to promote healthy lifestyles and focus on wellness and preventative care. She tries to practice what she preaches with healthy habits like clean eating, regular exercise and mental well-being.
She advocates for caring for all aspects of health. She celebrates each individual’s unique personalities and values. It is her goal to be transparent and authentic. Family is important to her, and she knows that family comes in many different forms. She looks forward to meeting and working alongside you and your family.
She is a Washington native and grew up in Skagit County. She got her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Pacific Lutheran University and her Master’s of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialty from Gonzaga University. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a flight nurse with the United States Air Force Reserves, where she is an active member of her aeromedical evacuation unit at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, running, and hiking and backpacking with her husband. One of their goals is to visit every national park in the lower 48 states. She enjoys puzzles and game nights with friends and has a special interest in trivia games.
