Dr. Alex Howells is a local who grew up in Enumclaw, WA. She earned her DO from Pacific Northwest University in Yakima and later completed her residency at East Pierce Family Medicine in Puyallup.
As a provider, she knows the best way to achieve ideal health outcomes is to do what we can to avoid illness before it happens. Her focus on preventative care is paired with a strong emphasis on collaboration, allowing her to work with patients as a team to find solutions that are both workable and effective for patients in their everyday life. She strives to serve as both a guide and support to patients as they navigate a life-long trek towards ideal health, while ensuring that their autonomy is respected along the way.
Dr. Howells enjoys family medicine in particular because it allows for long-term continuity with patients. She values being able to develop a collaborative relationship with her patients over time, as it not only builds trust but contributes to a therapeutic physician-patient relationship.
Outside of work, Dr. Howells enjoys hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. When the weather brings her indoors, she can be found baking delicious treats and spending time with her loved ones. You might also find her embarking on projects to sort, categorize, and put everything in its right place – a very satisfying activity for those who love organizing!
