We’re Making Flu Shots Convenient and Fast

No one wants to be sick. We all know that if you’re going to get the flu, it’s likely to come at the worst possible time- during a holiday, a busy work period, or right before a trip. The good news is that the worst of the flu is easily avoidable by getting your yearly flu shot.

Who should get a flu shot?

With very few exceptions, the CDC recommends that everyone aged 6 months or older get a flu shot. Vaccination protects many from disease. Should you get the shot and still contract the virus, the shot will reduce the severity of the symptoms. Getting the shot yourself also helps protect the people around you, including infants and the elderly or immune-compromised.

Does getting a flu shot protect you from COVID-19?

While protecting yourself from the flu does not increase your resistance to COVID-19, your chances of serious complications arise if you contract both viruses in a short period of time.

Getting the vaccine also protects community resources. The CDC reports that in the 2018-2019 flu season, nearly 500,000 Americans were hospitalized due to the flu. Reducing demand on hospitals this winter will help us stay prepared to fight COVID-19.

What kinds of flu shots do we offer?

Our clinics are stocked with the regular dose, injectable version of the shot. We do not offer the FluMist nasal spray. If you need the high dose shot or have concerns about an allergy to a vaccine ingredient, please speak with your provider.

Who pays for a flu shot?

Most insurance companies cover the flu shot, though some plans state that the shots must be given at a pharmacy. Please check with your insurance carrier before coming in.

For uninsured patients, the 2020-2021 price is $49.44
