Sound Family Medicine is excited that our brand-new Senior Clinic received 2021 award of “Master of Innovation” from the Puyallup-Sumner Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber honored local businesses with its Champions of Commerce Awards and Gala night on February 25, 2022.
About the Champions of Commerce and Master of Innovation Award
Chamber and community members were invited to nominate local businesses they believe were deserving of the distinctions. There was a total of 15 award categories presented with over 80 local businesses nominated as finalists.
The category “Master of Innovation” honors the company who exhibits innovation via its unique approach, technology, product, or service it provides to our community. Sound Family Medicine was among the six finalists within this category.
The Chamber’s CEO Tara Doyle-Enneking presented the award to Sound Family Medicine. She described our Senior Clinic as “an innovative approach to providing care to our community seniors and elders where the senior patient has more time with their doctors, a concierge-style of care, a community room to be opened to seniors in the community for social time/health education classes, pharmacy onsite with customized pre-fill packaging, a full care team to coordinate and align plans of care, and more.”

We are grateful to the Puyallup-Sumner Chamber of Commerce
Dr. Sean Stout, lead physician of the Senior Clinic, shares:
“We are grateful to the Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce for recognizing Sound Family Medicine’s Senior Clinic. Our Senior Clinic is an effort to change the medical experience for our patients, with a focus on maximizing their health in a collaborative process.
Our new approach includes helping our patients achieve their goals when they aren’t in our clinic. We hope to use this model to improve the well-being of our seniors, their families, and our community. We appreciate the Chamber’s support.”

This new model of care shifts the focus back to the patients
“Practicing medicine was never supposed to be about how many people you could take care of,” Tracie Jefferson, PA-C stated.” This new model of care shifts the focus back to the patient where it belongs.”
Longer appointment times with providers makes a difference for senior patients. “The conversations I get to have with my patients now makes a world of difference in addressing their needs in a way that aligns with their goals so that we can help them live their best lives.
I have been able to educate them about their conditions, partner with them on barriers they had that no one knew about before, and most importantly, build a deeper relationship with them.”

The Senior Clinic is open to new patients
We are grateful for this honor and are proud to be a member of the Puyallup-Sumner Chamber of Commerce for 36 years. More so, we are grateful for the opportunity to provide this innovative care to our senior patients.
