Family Practice Opportunity
We’re a physician-owned, multi-location, 20-provider family practice organization. Located in the one of the most livable areas of the country, Sound Family Medicine (SFM) has over 32,000 active patients. All physicians at SFM are Board Certified Family Physicians. Our practice philosophy provides us the opportunity to care for the whole family, from our youngest to our oldest patients. Many of our doctors also provide maternity care. SFM physicians routinely deliver over 25% of the babies at Good Samaritan Hospital, Puyallup, which serves an area of around 160,000 residents.
We offer new physicians a guarantee base salary to allow them time to build their practice, and we monitor the latest salary trends for primary care physicians to make sure we are competitive. After-hours calls are handled by rotating at least 12 physicians for on-call duty. Physicians choose whether to handle their own in-patient admits, or ask another physician to manage them. Physicians who do in-patient care realize higher earnings as a portion of pay is based on charges - base pay + production bonus. For physicians who prefer not to manage OB within their practice, other SFM physicians who do OB will take after-hour OB related calls.
Patient and physician convenience is important to us. We provide on-site (DEXA) testing for osteoporosis, EKG’s, Holter monitors, ultrasound, pulmonary function and nuclear stress testing. We also have expanded our in-house lab tests and perform CBC’s, lipids, LFT’s, as well as coumadin testing. Our extended hours and locations contribute to our success. Our Same-Day Clinic (urgent care) is open 7 days/week with expanded weekday hours.
SFM uses GE Centricity’s electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management (PM) system. All outside chart documents are scanned, providing an up-to-date electronic medical chart that you may access from home, hospital or anywhere that Internet is available. We frequently hear this is of great benefit to physicians as they can best manage patient care when on-call, at the hospital or if they elect to chart at an alternate location.
Technology and innovation is a hallmark of SFM. This year, SFM received two prestigious awards for our clinical quality improvement work with patients with hypertension. Improving care and patient lives for those with diabetes is our recent focus. SFM offers patients unusual options such as, 1) Online Appointments 2) Secure Messaging (email to nurses and/or providers) 3) Online Test Results 4) Online RX Refills 5) Online Bill Pay 6) Email Reminders (to patients about follow-up or regular appointments).
Team collaboration drives SFM’s innovative approach to healthcare. Internally this translates into mutual respect, trust, and the development of positive, productive working relationships. As an organization, we value compassion and are committed to fostering long-term relationships with both our employees and patients, and supporting innovative approaches in delivering unparalleled patient care in our community. Because we do comprehensive Risk Management Training for all staff and providers, our malpractice premiums are very low.
20 minutes from Tacoma, an hour from the mountains or Seattle, Puget Sound has it all. This area offers a rich variety of vacation, recreational and holiday pursuits from the cultural attractions of two major cities to island retreats, cozy bed and breakfasts, romantic country inns and first class resorts. There are plenty of opportunities for shopping, music, sightseeing, hiking, kayaking, and boating.
We’re looking for physicians willing to practice full service family medicine, obstetrics optional. We offer an excellent compensation package, group health/dental/vision, retirement benefits and paid time off; partnership offered to physicians after two years of employment; malpractice paid by organization.
